Travel Information

Stuttgart is easily accessible by car, train (Stuttgart Hbf - main station) and airplane (airport Stuttgart or nearby Frankfurt).

Campus Vaihingen of the University of Stuttgart is located about 10 minutes drive with S-Bahn from the main train station or 16 minutes from the Stuttgart Airport.
 


How to reach the Campus Vaihingen:

By plane:
From the Stuttgart Airport arrival hall:
-Walk downstairs to take the S-Bahn (= commuter railway) marked by a green S (station is called: Stuttgart Flughafen/Messe).
-Take one of the lines S2, S3 in direction to Schorndorf or Backnang (
Timetable information by VVS or by Deutsche Bahn).
-Get off the S-Bahn at the 7th stop at station "Universität" and leave the station through the exit "Universitätszentrum".
-It is necessary to purchase a ticket for 2 zones at one of the bright orange vending machines.

By train:
From the Central Train Station (Stuttgart Hbf):
-Walk downstairs to take the S-Bahn.
-Take one of the lines S1, S2 or S3 in direction to Herrenberg, Filderstadt, Flughafen (
Timetable information by VVS or by Deutsche Bahn)
-Get off the S-Bahn at the 4th stop at station "Universität" and leave the station through the exit "Universitätszentrum".
-When you buy a train ticket from your city to the station “Stuttgart Universität”, you don’t need an additional ticket for S-Bahn.

 

Please be aware that there is only very limited space for parking on the University Campus! Using public transport is strongly recommended.

Here you can find a map of the university campus. The buildings in which the lecture halls are located are marked in green. Lunch options and cafeterias are shown as well. Again, be aware that parking lots are very limited and are sometimes not accessible. The booklet will be published later on this website. The booklet will include maps of each floor of each building, so you can find your lecture halls. There will also be signs in the building.
