The SOFIA Massive Star Formation Survey
The SOFIA Massive (SOMA) Star Formation Survey has used the FORCAST instrument to image ~100 massive protostars at FIR wavelengths from 7 to 37 microns. These images trace warm dust in and around protostellar outflow cavities and provide important constraints on spectral energy distributions. Together, these data help measure protostellar properties and test theoretical models of massive star formation. Substantial follow-up observations have also been carried out on the sample, especially with HST, ALMA, VLA and soon JWST. I give a brief overview of the latest results from the SOMA survey and discuss future directions.
