Spectroscopic tracers of radiative feedback from massive stars in the ISM and protoplanetary disks

I will review our studies on the impact of far-UV radiation and winds from massive stars in their surrounding star-forming clouds, focusing on the large-scale PDR emission in Orion A and B giant molecular clouds. I will summarize the main results obtained from our pioneering velocity-resolved maps of the [CII] 158 μm line emission using Herschel/HIFI and SOFIA/UGRATE and will present new results using neutral atomic carbon fine-structure lines in the submillimeter, carbon radio recombination lines in the millimeter, as well as near-IR excited fine-structure and recombination lines with JWST.
