A compact Imaging Polarimeter for submillimeter astronomy
In the framework of ESA's M-class missions, an international collaboration led by the Astrophysics Division at CEA-France has developed a new type of imaging polarimeter on the SPICA Space observatory. The use of intrinsically polarisation-sensitive bolometers has allowed the design of a compact instrument that does not require most of the traditional optical elements used in polarimetry. This instrument will be described and future plans will be presented.
