Millimetre and sub-millimetre instrumentation based on Lumped Element Kinetic Inductance Detectors
As discussed with the organisers, I will describe the experience accumulated in Grenoble regarding the development of instrumentation based on Kinetic Inductance Detectors. In particular, the instruments that have been designed, fabricated and deployed since 2009 are NIKA (dual-band imaging), NIKA2 (dual-band imaging and polarimetry) and KISS, CONCERTO (low-spectral-resolution spectral-imaging). I will try to highlight it in view of the workshop context, with the aim of understanding if a part of this experience might be useful for future airborne instrumentation.
